The NA Sommelier Founder

Juanita Unger is the founder of The NA Sommelier, a Seattle-based consultancy and experience design company helping venues, restaurants, and event professionals build thoughtful, inclusive non-alcoholic beverage programs — work that sits right at the intersection of hospitality, culture, and health.

Her portfolio includes non-alcoholic programming for West Seattle Summerfest and restaurants like James Beard-nominated Communion, and she's taught with PCC Community Markets, Aramark, and the U.S. Bartenders' Guild. She's curated Seattle Uncorked: The Big Taste and Pike Place Sunset Supper, and judged Wilderton's No & Lo Beverage Competition.

The NA Sommelier was named Best Artisan Food Vendor at the Bite of Seattle and has been featured in the New York Post, Seattle Magazine, Sound Consumer, New Day Northwest, KOMO, and ARC Network. Juanita brings a firsthand perspective shaped by two decades in hospitality and five years alcohol-free — she knows what it's like to be the guest whose experience depends on whether a venue got inclusion right. Outside work, she's a fluent Spanish speaker who loves exploring new places and dancing, from ballet to Baltic folk dance, she does it all!
