Executive Chef

Chef Thomas Borowitz was born on September 17, 1985, in Yonkers NY, to a large Italian family. Growing up, he fondly recalls family gatherings filled with delicious meals prepared by his grandmother, which ignited his passion for cooking.
From an early age, Thomas was drawn to the kitchen, initially working at a snack bar in the Westchester Skating Academy and as a dishwasher in a small restaurant. This experience deepend his love for culinary arts and led him to pursue a career in cooking.
In high school, he seized an opportunity to attend a tech center for Culinary Arts, which cemented his desire to explore this field. During his senior year, he had the opportunity to work in a commercial kitchen (Abigail Kirsch). It was here that he gained valuable experience and insights into the profession.
After graduating High School, Thomas attended the Culinary Institute of America (CIA) where he refined his skills. While attending school at the CIA, Thomas worked at Sleepy Hollow Country Club (SHCC). It was here that he realized he no longer wanted to open a Pizzeria and that he wanted to be an Executive Chef.
In February 2008, Chef Thomas graduated from the CIA and began his professional journey at Dolce International. A conference center in Palisades NY. Although his time here was brief, it opened doors for him, leading to a position at Trump International Golf Club.
At Trump, Thomas worked for an extremely talented Chef, where he developed a passion for molecular gastronomy and food innovation. His experiences there deepened his culinary expertise and creativity.
When the season ended, Thomas returned to Dolce as a Kitchen Supervisor. His commitment and passion for teamwork and leadership was evident.
Thomas realized that he did not want to move into any positions to early and that it was important for him to learn every role in the kitchen brigade system. He progressed from AM Supervisor to PM Supervisor, to AM Sous Chef to PM Sous Chef, then Chef De Cuisine, Executive Sous Chef, and ultimately became Executive Chef.
Chef Thomas takes pride in his relentless pursuit of excellence, consistently pushing the boundaries of culinary art. His innovative approach to food sets him apart.
